Audiences overview
More on pre-bid audiences: Pre-bid audiences are included in a separate Pre-bid Audiences section of each campaign instead of in the Audiences section. After you create an audience on the IQM platform, you’ll choose which campaigns will target or exclude it. This article outlines how to assign an existing audience to a campaign or remove it from one. Review these resources first if you’d like to add a new audience:
Note that you can choose multiple audience types per campaign. The exception to this rule is Account Based Marketing (ABM) audiences: target only one ABM audience or multiple ABM audiences per campaign, if desired.
Assign an audience to a campaign
You can assign up to 20 audiences featuring a Ready or Processing status to a new or existing campaign. Complete this process from the Audiences or Campaigns apps:
From the Audiences app - Existing campaign
Campaigns app - New campaign
Follow these steps to assign audiences to a new campaign from the Campaigns app:
Open the Campaigns app.
Choose an Insertion Order (IO) to arrive at the Insertion Order Info page.
Click + Create Campaign. You’ll be redirected to a form for the new campaign, where you can add or update its details and targeting parameters.
Locate and expand the Audience section.
Select the desired audience type.
Open the Select Audiences menu to search, browse, and select audiences.
Repeat steps 5 through 6 for each applicable audience.
In the Allowlist/Blocklist column, specify whether the campaign should target or block each audience.
An audience is targeted when the toggle is green and located on the right side.
An audience is blocked when the toggle is red and located on the left side.
Complete the campaign’s other required and applicable fields, as needed.
Refer to the Campaign Targeting Guide for additional support.
Save your changes.
Click Save as Draft to apply your selections in a draft format.
Click Run to apply your selections and create the campaign.
Campaigns app - Existing campaign
Follow these steps to assign audiences to a campaign that you previously created:
Open the Campaigns app.
Select an insertion order (IO) to arrive at the Insertion Order Info page.
Locate the Campaign Name column and click the desired campaign’s name. We’ll redirect you to a form for the campaign, where you can add or update its details and targeting parameters.
Locate and expand the Audience section.
Select the desired audience type.
Open the Select Audiences menu to search, browse, and select audiences.
Repeat steps 5 through 6 for each applicable audience.
In the Allowlist/Blocklist column, specify whether the campaign should target or block each audience.
An audience is targeted when the toggle is green and located on the right side.
An audience is blocked when the toggle is red and located on the left side.
Complete the campaign’s other required and applicable fields, as needed.

Click Save to apply your changes to the existing campaign.
Audiences app - New campaign
Follow these steps to assign audiences to a new campaign from the Audiences app:
Open the Audiences app.
Select All or a specific audience type.
Select the checkbox(es) next to the desired audience(s).
Click Create Campaign. This will open the Create Campaign pop-up window.
Search or browse and select an insertion order from the Insertion Order field.
Enter the new campaign’s name into the Campaign Name field.
Select Create. This will redirect you to the campaign creation page of the Campaigns app.
Locate and expand the Audience section, where the added audience type(s) are pre-selected and the audience(s) that you added are listed in a table.
If desired, open the Select Audiences menu to search and select additional Campaign audiences for this campaign to target.
In the Allowlist/Blocklist column, specify whether the campaign should target or block each audience.
An audience is targeted when the toggle is green and located on the right side.
An audience is blocked when the toggle is red and located on the left side.
Complete the campaign’s other required and applicable fields, as needed.

Save your changes.

Audiences app - Existing campaign
Follow these steps to assign audiences to campaigns that you’ve already created from the Audiences app:
Open the Audiences app.
Select All or a specific audience type.
Select the checkbox(es) next to the desired audience(s).
Click Assign To Campaign. This will open the Add To Campaign pop-up window.
Use the Campaigns field to search or browse and select existing campaign(s).
In the Allowlist/Blocklist column, specify whether the campaign should target or block each audience.
An audience is targeted when the toggle is green and located on the right side.
An audience is blocked when the toggle is red and located on the left side.
Click Update to add the audience(s) to the campaign(s) you selected.
Remove an audience from a campaign
You can remove an audience from a campaign in the following ways:
Campaigns app
Follow these steps to remove an audience that’s currently assigned to a campaign from the Campaigns app:
Follow steps 1 through 4 of the Campaigns app - Existing campaign workflow to open the campaign.
In the Remove column, select the trashcan icon next to each audience that you’d like to remove from the campaign.
Save your changes.
Select Save as Draft to apply the changes in a draft format.
Select Run to apply the changes and create the campaign.
Select Save if the campaign is already running to apply your changes to the active campaign.
The campaign will no longer target the audience(s) that you removed. Note that the audience(s) will remain available in the Audiences app, and other campaigns that are targeting the audience(s) won’t be impacted.
Audiences app
Follow these steps to remove an audience that’s currently assigned to a campaign from the Audiences app:
Follow steps 1 through 2 of the Audiences app - Existing campaign workflow.
Select the desired audience’s Allowlist and/or Blocklist count from the Allowlist/Blocklist column. This will open the Assign To Campaign pop-up window.
In the Action column, select the trashcan icon next to each campaign from which you’d like to remove the audience.
Click Update to apply your changes.
The campaign(s) will no longer target the audience that you removed. Note that the audience will remain available in the Audiences app, and other campaigns that are targeting it won’t be impacted.
