Campaigns overview

Campaigns are the individual marketing strategies that define how you’ll serve ads, when those ads will be served, and where they’ll be placed. They contain a set of targeting parameters, an ad format and versions, bidding strategies, and any other targeting settings that you specify.

Refer to Campaigns overview for more details.

Create a campaign with Vera

More on generating campaigns: Note that a campaign doesn’t immediately begin spending and serving when you choose to generate it. First, the campaign will undergo a review process to confirm that it meets certain requirements. Refer to Send a campaign for approval with Vera to begin this review process.

You’ll know when a campaign is approved when its status changes from Pending to Running. We’ll also notify you via email.

Follow these steps to create a campaign with Vera:

  1. Open the Vera app.

  2. Select Campaigns.

  3. Use the chat box to let Vera know you’d like to create a new campaign.

    1. No need to include everything–Vera will prompt you to enter your settings and preferences if you’ve missed any details.

  4. Click the submit button. This will redirect you to a new conversation with Vera.

  5. Choose an insertion order (IO).

    1. Open the Select Insertion Order menu, or use the chat box, to choose an existing IO.

    2. Use the chat box to let Vera know if you’d like to create a new IO for the campaign instead. Vera will prompt you to gather all required details to create the new IO.

    3. Note that you’ll need to choose a budget-based IO if the campaign will have a monetary budget, or an impression-based IO if the campaign will have an impression budget. Refer to Budget-based and impression-based insertion orders (IO) for additional support

  6. Vera will guide you through adding the campaign's settings (e.g., budget and dates), creatives, and optional targeting settings one at a time.

    1. Feel free to skip any optional fields that Vera asks you to complete.

    2. Refer to the Campaign targeting guide to review each required and optional campaign targeting element.

  7. Your settings and requirements will appear in the Campaign Overview as you build out the campaign.

  8. If desired, use the chat box to ask Vera to apply any additions or changes to the campaign draft.

  9. Click Generate Campaign.

Once the campaign finishes generating, you can review it and send it for approval.

Edit a campaign

Follow these steps to edit an existing campaign with Vera:

  1. Review the campaign’s existing settings in the Campaign Overview.

  2. Use the chat box to let Vera know you’d like to change the campaign’s details.

    1. Specify the items you’d like to adjust directly in the chat box, or wait for Vera to prompt you.

Vera will prompt you to input the desired changes and confirm your selection. Refer to the Campaign targeting guide for additional support with each required and optional campaign targeting element.

Duplicate a campaign

Follow these steps to duplicate an existing campaign with Vera:

  1. Use the chat box to let Vera know you’d like to duplicate the campaign. This will create a new draft campaign based on the original campaign.

  2. Review the campaign’s existing settings in the Campaign Overview.

  3. Follow the steps outlined in Create a campaign with Vera to specify the campaign’s settings and targeting parameters.

Restore an expired campaign

More on restoring expired campaigns: You can restore an expired campaign by extending its End Date. This will reactivate the campaign, which will resume serving ads as long as its budget hasn’t been depleted.

Note that an insertion order’s (IO) status outweighs the status of its individual campaigns. Like with campaigns, an expired IO can be restored by extending its End Date.

Follow these steps to restore an expired campaign with Vera:

  1. Use the chat box to let Vera know you’d like to change the campaign’s End Date.

Vera will prompt you to share the desired End Date and confirm your selection.

Send a campaign for approval with Vera

Follow these steps to begin the campaign-review process to confirm that it meets certain requirements:

  1. Review the Campaign Overview to ensure your campaign is ready to send for approval.

    1. Select an expand arrow to open a particular section.

  2. Select Send For Approval.

You’ll know when a campaign is approved when its status changes from Pending to Running. We’ll also notify you via email.

Manually create or manage a campaign

You can manually create or manage campaigns at any time. Follow the steps outlined in Create or manage a campaign for step-by-step instructions.
