Memories overview
Memories are preferences that you teach Vera to apply them the next time you work on that advertiser's workflows. For example, you can save a maximum bid, a frequency cap, or a naming convention once, instead of repeating it in every campaign. You can also paste a full campaign setup playbook, and Vera will save each rule as its own memory.
Memories are scoped to you and to the advertiser you’re working on. A memory saved for one advertiser isn’t applied to your other advertisers, and other users can’t see or use your memories.
Memories can include conditions, such as “Max bid $20 – when creative is Image” or “Frequency cap 3 – for CTV.” Vera only applies a conditional memory when its condition is met.
You can save memories for the following workflows:
Campaign creation
Matched, Segmented, Contextual, and Geofarmed audiences
Report creation
Dashboard creation
How Vera applies memories
When you start a workflow, such as creating a campaign, Vera applies the memories that match your advertiser and workflow, and tells you which ones Vera used. For example, “I applied your saved max bid and naming convention.”
Priority: Instructions you give in the current chat take priority over your saved memories, and your saved memories take priority over Vera’s default settings.
Conflicts: If more than one memory could apply and Vera can’t tell which one you want, Vera asks before continuing.
One-time changes: To use a different value for the current workflow only, change the field or tell Vera. For example, “Use a frequency cap of 5 for this campaign.” Your saved memory doesn’t change.
To change a memory permanently, edit it on the Memories page. Refer to Edit a memory for step-by-step instructions.
Create a memory on the Memories page
More on Vera Memories: Vera never saves a memory without your confirmation. Using a value in a single workflow doesn’t save it as a memory. |
Follow these steps to create one or more memories on the Memories page:
Open the Vera app.
Open the Settings menu in the left panel.
Select Memories.
Describe a preference or paste your playbook in the input box.
If desired, select a suggestion chip to start from a ready-made prompt.
Include any conditions, such as “for CTV” or “when the creative is Image.”
To save several preferences at once, paste them together, such as a list from your campaign setup playbook.
Click the submit button.
Vera identifies each preference in your text so you can review them before anything is saved.
Review and save identified preferences
Follow these steps to review the preferences Vera identified and save them as memories:
If any new preferences conflict with your saved memories or with each other when you Create a memory, the Resolve conflicts window opens.
For each conflict, select Save to save the new preference, or Don’t save to keep your existing memory.
Click Next.
Review the preferences in the Preferences identified window.
Clear the checkbox next to any preference you don’t want to save.
Preferences you’ve already saved appear dimmed.
If some of your text doesn’t match a setting Vera can apply, Vera won’t save it. Select Download (.CSV) to review those items.
Click Save.
Vera confirms how many preferences were added, and your new memories appear on the Memories page.
Create a memory in a chat with Vera
You can also tell Vera to remember a preference in any chat, including in the middle of a workflow such as creating a campaign.
Follow these steps to create a memory in a chat with Vera:
Use the input box to describe a lasting preference for the advertiser, such as “For ACME, always use a max bid of $20 for Image creatives and a frequency cap of 3 for CTV.”
Review the Preferences identified card. Clear the checkbox next to any preference you don’t want to save.
Click Save.
Vera confirms that your memories are saved. To review them, select Manage your saved memories in the suggested next steps.
Manage your memories
Locate your memories
Follow these steps to locate your saved memories:
Open the Settings menu in the left panel.
Select Memories.
In the table, review the preferences you’ve saved as memories.
The Workflow column shows where each memory applies.
The Last Updated column shows when each memory was last changed.
Locate a specific memory.
To search, enter a keyword in the Search your memories field.
To filter by workflow, select the filter icon and choose a workflow.
Turn a memory on or off
Turn a memory off to stop Vera from applying it without deleting it. Turned-off memories stay on the Memories page so you can turn them back on later.
Follow these steps to turn a memory on or off:
Follow steps 1 through 2 of the Locate your memories workflow.
Select the toggle next to the desired memory to turn it on or off.
Edit a memory
Follow these steps to edit a saved memory:
Follow steps 1 through 2 of the Locate your memories workflow.
Click the edit icon in the Action column next to the desired memory. The memory appears in the input box.
Describe the change in the chat box.
Click the submit button.
Review the update when Vera asks you to confirm it.
If the change conflicts with another memory, Vera flags it so you can choose which one to keep.
Delete a memory
More on deleting memories: Deleting a memory only affects what Vera applies going forward. Campaigns and other items you’ve already created don’t change. |
Follow these steps to delete a saved memory:
Follow steps 1 through 2 of the Locate your memories workflow.
Click the delete icon in the Action column next to the desired memory. This will prompt you to review any disclaimers and confirm your selection.
