Generate a campaign from a Planner proposal

Transition from planning to execution by generating the campaigns from your Planner proposal.

Campaign generation overview

The proposals you create in Planner define a single, unified media plan across devices and channels to maximize campaign reach and impact. Once you choose which of the proposal’s campaigns you’d like to generate, you can easily transition from planning to execution with campaign management tools that automatically sync with your proposal.

Generate campaigns from a proposal

You can generate campaigns from two locations in the Planner app:

  1. From the Proposals page.

  2. From the Proposal Details page.

Note that a proposal must feature a Ready status for its campaigns to be eligible for generation. Refer to Proposal statuses for more information on proposal statuses.

Generate campaigns from the Proposals page

Follow these steps to generate campaigns from the Proposals page in the Planner app:

  1. Open the Planner app from the IQM platform homepage.

  2. Locate the proposal on the Proposals page.

    1. If you’ve created several proposals, search by a proposal element (ID, name, created by) or filter by status to limit which proposals will display on the page.

  3. Select Generate Campaigns in the Actions column next to the proposal.

The proposal’s status will change from Ready to Processing while we work on generating the campaigns, then from Processing to Converted when the process is complete. You can view and manage generated campaigns once they reach a Converted status.

Each generated campaign will remain as a draft until you add your creatives and choose to run them.

Generate campaigns from the Proposal Details page

Follow these steps to generate campaigns from the Proposal Details page in the Planner app:

  1. Open the Planner app.

  2. Locate the proposal on the Proposals page.

    1. If you’ve created several proposals, search by a proposal element (ID, name, created by) or filter by status to limit which proposals will display on the page.

  3. Click the proposal’s Name to open it. This will redirect you to the Proposal Details page for this proposal.

  4. Locate the Campaigns table and review each campaign.

  5. Select Generate Campaigns.

Choosing which campaigns to generate: We’ll generate all of your proposal’s campaigns when you select Generate Campaigns. To limit the campaigns we generate, you can exclude campaigns by deleting them from the proposal.

Note that deleted campaigns are unrecoverable, and this action is permanent. As a safeguard, consider duplicating a proposal before deleting any campaigns from it.

You can view and manage generated campaigns once they show a Converted status on the Proposals page. Each campaign will remain a draft until you add your creatives and choose to run it.


Manage generated campaigns

You’ll need to add your creative(s) to your campaigns before you can run them. You can review or manage campaigns that you generated from a Planner proposal in the following ways:

  • From the Planner app via the Proposals page

  • From the Planner app via the Proposal Details page

Save time with bulk actions: If you plan to apply the same creative to multiple campaigns, assign it from the Creatives app. Simply open the app, select the checkbox next to the creative, and click Assign To Campaign. Search and select individual campaigns, or select the insertion order (IO) to add the creative to every campaign within that IO. Click Assign and return to the Campaigns app when you’re ready to run your campaigns.

Manage generated campaigns from the Proposals page

Follow these steps to manage generated campaigns from the Proposals page of the Planner app:

  1. Open the Planner app.

  2. Locate the proposal on the Proposals page.

    1. If you’ve created several proposals, search by a proposal element (ID, name, created by) or filter by status to limit which proposals will display on the page.

  3. Select View Campaigns in the Actions column next to the proposal. This will redirect you to the Insertion Order Info page of the Campaigns app.

  4. Select a campaign in the Campaign Name column to open its detail page.

  5. Locate and expand the Creatives section. The creative formats you chose in your Planner proposal are pre-selected.

  6. Click + Select Creatives to add a creative you’ve already uploaded to the Creatives app, or + New Creative to add a new one.

  7. The remaining sections of the campaign automatically include each of the inputs you specified in your proposal. You can review and update these items or any other sections of the campaign, if desired.

    1. Any changes applied to the campaign will impact the values previously forecasted in your Planner proposal.

  8. Select Run to activate the campaign.

Manage generated campaigns from the Proposal Details page

Follow these steps to manage generated campaigns from the Proposal Details page of the Planner app:

  1. Open the Planner app.

  2. Locate the proposal on the Proposals page.

    1. If you’ve created several proposals, search by a proposal element (ID, name, created by) or filter by status to limit which proposals will display on the page.

  3. Click the proposal’s Name to open it. This will redirect you to the Proposal Details page for this proposal.

  4. Select View Campaigns.

  5. Follow steps 4 through 8 of the Manage generated campaigns from the Proposals page workflow.
