In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to applying a Bid Modifier to ad creatives.

For additional information on Bid Modifier, see the following articles:

To apply a Bid Modifier on any ad creative or any other dimension (coming soon) in the campaign, the following minimum requirements must be met:

  • The campaign must be at least 3 days long

  • The campaign’s daily budget must be at least $100

  • Ad creatives must be added to the campaign

There are two areas in the platform where you can apply Bid Modifier to ad creatives:

  1. From the Campaigns app

  2. From the Bid Model app

1. From the Campaigns app

In the Campaigns app, expand the Creatives section and locate the “Advanced Modeling” button in the top right corner.

Click on “Advanced Modeling.”

Click on “Apply Advanced Modeling” to proceed.

**Please note: This action will turn the Bid Shading feature OFF in the campaign. You will see the prompt to confirm the action. If you would prefer to keep bid shading on and not leverage Advanced Bid Model, click Cancel.

Please proceed to the section on Applying a Bid Modifier.

2. From the Bid Model app

Begin by selecting the app labeled “Bid Model” on the home screen or from the 9-dot box in the upper right-hand corner.

In the Bid Model app, select the desired campaign from the dropdown.

The creatives associated with the selected campaign are visible in the Creatives tab in the left panel. Select the creatives on which you wish to apply a Bid Modifier.

**Please note: This action will turn the Bid Shading feature OFF in the campaign. You will see the prompt to confirm the action. If you would prefer to keep bid shading on and not leverage Bid Model, click Cancel.

Applying the Bid Modifier

The box that pops up will include two tabs: “All Creatives” and “Modeled Creatives.” The “All Creatives” tab will show all active creatives associated with the campaign. “Modeled Creatives” will show the ads to which you can apply a bid modifier.

To add one or more creatives to the Modeled Creatives tab, select the desired creatives and click “+ Add to Modeling.”

For each creative in the “Modeled Creatives” tab, enter a multiplier between 0.1 and 100 to effectively raise and lower your bid price by creative.

** Please note: You must set your base bid price before applying the Bid Modifier to any of your creative versions. The default value of the Base Bid Price will be the same as the Max Bid Price for the campaign.

You can change the applied Bid Modifier anytime during the campaign.
