Global Blocklist overview
More in inventory targeting and blocking: No ads from any campaign will be served on inventory that you’ve included in your Global Blocklist. There may be instances when you want to target or block the same set of inventory across multiple campaigns–but not every campaign.
We recommend creating inventory groups instead for this use case. They allow you to select multiple inventory items and group them together into a single collection. You can add the relevant group(s) on a campaign-by-campaign instead of manually selecting and adding individual Open Exchange, Private Marketplace (PMP), or Contextual inventory for each campaign.
Refer to Inventory groups overview for more information. |
Most advertisers identify one or more types of digital media placements or websites that they’d like to exclude from all of their ad campaigns. This inventory is typically deemed inappropriate due to adult content, hate speech, or misleading information; or feature low engagement or create a poor user experience.
You can add this inventory to a Global Blocklist to automatically exclude the same set of inventory across each of your campaigns. The platform will immediately stop serving ads across any of the inventory you blocked to help ensure that your ads are only displayed on high-quality websites that align with the brand’s image and target audience.
Eligibility requirements
All advertisers are eligible to add Open Exchange inventory to, and remove it from, a Global Blocklist.
Note that your Workspace admin may block certain inventory at the Workspace level. This means that your advertiser account will block that inventory by default, and you won’t be able to remove those items from the Global Blocklist. Contact your Workspace admin with any questions related to inventory that is blocked at the Workspace level.
Add inventory to a Global Blocklist
Inventory app data notice: The data down in the Inventory app (e.g., Impressions, Reach, etc.) is based on bidder traffic from the past 7 days, and may not reflect real-time availability or performance. |
You can take any of the following approaches to add Open Exchange inventory to your advertiser account’s Global Blocklist:
Bid Model app - Select individual inventory that you chose to add to your campaign or that appeared in the campaign’s ad-serving data
Upload a file - Inventory app
You can upload a CSV file to block inventory in bulk. A single file can contain up to 50K records and must follow the formatting guidelines outlined in the provided sample file.
Follow these steps to obtain the sample file and upload a Global Blocklist:
Open the Inventory app.
Select the Global Blocklist tab.
Click the Sample File link to download a CSV file containing formatting guidelines.
Prepare your file on your local device to include each of the inventory items you’d like to add to the Global Blocklist.
Select Upload to browse your local files and select the Global Blocklist CSV.
If desired, drag the file into the provided space instead.
Blocked inventory will appear in a list format on the Global Blocklist page.
If desired, add a comment next to any of the blocked inventory for future reference.
The inventory that was successfully added will immediately appear in your Global Blocklist, and the platform will stop serving ads across any of the inventory you blocked.
Select individual inventory - Inventory app

Select the checkbox(es) next to the inventory that you want to add to the Global Blocklist.
Click Block to add those items to the list.
The inventory will immediately appear in your Global Blocklist, and the platform will stop serving ads across any of the inventory you blocked.
Select individual inventory items - Bid Model app
More on advanced modelling: A Bid Model is a high-performance machine that you can steer to optimize your campaigns. You create a set of rules that the Bid Model deploys as the campaign runs. With intuitive controls, you can adjust bids with Bid Modifiers, allocate budgets with Spend Ratios, and define priorities with Dimension Priorities to optimize performance in real time across inventory and other supported campaign dimensions. Refer to Bid Model overview for more information. |
You can add inventory to your Global Blocklist directly from the Bid Model app. Unlike the Inventory app, which includes all inventory, the Bid Model app includes two types of inventory: inventory you chose to add to your campaign’s targeting rules, and inventory that appeared in the campaign’s ad-serving data.
Follow these steps to add inventory to your Global Blocklist from the Bid Model app:
Open the Bid Model app.
Expand the Inventory menu and select the type of inventory that you’d like to add to your Global Blocklist.
Click the checkbox(es) next to the desired inventory or upload a file containing up to 50K records.
Larger inventory files may be added on an ad-hoc basis. Contact us at support@IQM.com for additional support.
Select Block.
The inventory will immediately appear in your Global Blocklist, and the platform will stop serving ads across any of the inventory you blocked.
Manage a Global Blocklist
Each advertiser account can include one Global Blocklist. You can manage an existing Global Blocklist adding more inventory to it, or removing previously added inventory from it.
Remove inventory from a Global Blocklist
Follow these steps to remove inventory from a Global Blocklist:

Select the Global Blocklist tab.
Select the checkbox(es) next to the inventory you’d like to remove from the Global Blocklist.
