Manage a campaign's Optimization & Delivery settings

Set up or adjust a campaign’s budget or impression cap, frequency cap, and bid pacing settings.

Optimization & Delivery overview

Budget Capping, Bid Pacing, and Frequency Capping are the three tools that form a campaign’s Optimization & Delivery settings. How you manage them can impact the campaign’s ability to pace on track and achieve its performance goals.

Locate a campaign’s Optimization & Delivery section

Follow these steps to locate a campaign’s Optimization & Delivery section, which you’ll use to manage its Budget Capping, Bid Pacing, and Frequency Capping settings.

  1. Open the Campaigns app.

  2. Search or filter and select the desired insertion order (IO).

  3. Search or filter and select the desired campaign. This will open the campaign’s details.

    1. Select + Create Campaign if you’d like to add Optimization & Delivery settings to a new campaign instead.

  4. Expand the Optimization & Delivery section, which includes Budget Capping, Frequency Capping, and Bid Pricing settings.

Manage Budget Capping

Follow these steps to manage a campaign’s Budget Capping settings:

  1. Locate and expand the Optimization & Delivery section.

  2. The Budget Capping feature is disabled by default. Select the toggle switch at any time to enable it, if desired.

  3. Define a budget cap for impressions, clicks, and/or conversions.

    1. Enter a Maximum Daily and/or Maximum Total spending limit for Impressions.

    2. Enter a Maximum Daily and/or Maximum Total spending limit for Clicks.

    3. Enter a Maximum Daily and/or Maximum Total spending limit for Conversions.

  4. Save your changes.

    1. Select Save as Draft to apply your selections to the new campaign in a draft format.

    2. Select Run to apply your selections and create the new campaign.

    3. Select Save to apply your selections to an existing campaign.

Manage Frequency Capping

More on Frequency Capping: Frequency capping is a campaign-level setting that limits the number of times you’ll serve your ad to the same user within specific timeframe(s). A maximum of four frequency rules are supported per campaign. Review Optimization & Delivery overview - Frequency Capping for more information and requirements.

Note that your campaign may serve more impressions to a device identifier if the corresponding IQM ID or Ramp ID is not associated during bidding. Refer to Frequency Capping overview for more details.

Follow these steps to manage a campaign’s Frequency Capping settings:

  1. Locate and expand the Optimization & Delivery section.

  2. The Frequency Capping feature is disabled by default. Select the toggle switch at any time to enable it, if desired.

  3. Add the campaign’s frequency capping rules.

    1. Enter the desired number of impressions.

    2. Enter a duration and select the duration type from the dropdown menu.

    3. Repeat the process to add up to four frequency rules per campaign: One for each duration type.

  4. Save your changes.

    1. Select Save as Draft to apply your selections to the new campaign in a draft format.

    2. Select Run to apply your selections and create the new campaign.

    3. Select Save to apply your selections to an existing campaign.

Manage Bid Pacing

Follow these steps to manage a campaign’s Bid Pacing settings:

  1. Locate and expand the Optimization & Delivery section.

  2. The Bid Pacing feature is enabled by default. Select the toggle switch at any time to disable it, if desired.

  3. Save your changes.

    1. Select Save as Draft to apply your selections to the new campaign in a draft format.

    2. Select Run to apply your selections and create the new campaign.

    3. Select Save to apply your selections to an existing campaign.
