Campaign templates overview

The Campaign Templates feature streamlines your campaign-creation operations by templatizing the campaign targeting settings that you plan to reuse in future campaigns. Refer to Campaigns overview for more details.

Campaign template creation FAQ

Q: Why should I use a campaign template?

A: Campaign templates offer an operational benefit to your campaign-launch process. We recommend starting new campaigns from one of your existing templates to reduce errors and move faster.

Whether starting from scratch or from a saved template, you always have the flexibility to apply changes prior to running the campaign.

Q: What campaign types are supported?

A: You can create campaign templates for both Advanced and PG campaigns.

Q: Which sections of a campaign can I save to a template?

A: With the exception of the Campaign Info section, all of a campaign’s settings can be saved as a template. You’ll have the option to choose which to include and exclude before you finish saving the template.

Q: Which sections of a campaign are excluded from templates?

A: The Campaign Info section is excluded from all campaigns. You can choose additional campaign settings to include and exclude before you finish saving the template.

Q: Can I create a campaign without a template?

A: Yes, you can create a campaign without a template by selecting the “From Scratch” option during the creation workflow.

Q: If I create a campaign “From Scratch”, can I still create a template?

A: Yes, all new and existing campaigns include the Save As Template option.

Q: If I create a campaign “From Template”, can I still change the campaign’s targeting settings?

A: Yes, all of the campaign’s fields remain editable. You can treat a template as a starting point, then add or remove additional campaign settings.

Q: If I create a campaign “From Template” and select “Save As Template”, will any changes apply to the existing template or a new one?

A: Selecting Save As Template will create a new template each time.

Q: How can I create a new template?

A: Create a new template from any new or existing campaign by following the steps outlined in Create or manage a campaign.

Q: Can I open a template in an existing campaign?

A: No, applying previously templated campaign details is supported only for new campaigns. You can, however, save a template from both new and existing campaigns.

Q: Where can I review an existing template?

A: The option to view all templates is forthcoming. In the meantime, you can review a template by following the workflow to Create a campaign and selecting the “From Template” option. Review the preloaded campaign details from the template you clicked, then cancel campaign creation without saving your changes.

Q: How can I edit an existing template?

A: The option to edit an existing template is forthcoming. In the meantime, you can create a new template from any new or existing campaign by following the steps outlined in Create or manage a campaign.

Q: How can I delete an existing template?

A: The option to delete an existing template is forthcoming.
