Campaign generation overview
The plans you create in the HCP Planner app define a single, unified media plan across devices and channels to maximize the reach and impact of your healthcare campaigns. Once you choose which of the proposal’s campaigns you’d like to generate, you can easily transition from planning to execution by finishing campaign setup in the Campaigns app.
If you’d like to add or edit individual campaigns before generating campaigns from them, first refer to Create or manage a Healthcare Professional (HCP) Planner plan for step-by-step instructions.
Generate campaigns from a plan
Choosing which campaigns to generate: We’ll generate all of your plan’s campaigns when you select Create IO. To limit the campaigns we generate, you can exclude individual campaigns by deleting them from the plan. Follow the steps outlined in Create or manage a Healthcare Professional (HCP) Planner plan to complete this step.
Note that deleted campaigns are unrecoverable, and this action is permanent. As a safeguard, consider duplicating a plan before deleting any campaigns from it. Refer to Delete a campaign from a plan for more information. |
You can activate an HCP plan’s campaigns from the Plans page of the Planner app. Note that a plan must feature a Ready status for its campaigns to be eligible for generation. Refer to Plan statuses for more information.
Follow these steps to generate the plan’s campaigns:
Open the Planner app.
Select HCP.
Locate the desired plan on the Plans page.
If you’ve created several plans, search by a plan element (ID, Name, Created By) or filter by status to limit which plans will display on the page.
Select Create IO in the Actions column next to the plan. This will open a pop-up window, which you can use to review a summary of the plan’s campaigns and confirm that you’d like to activate them.
Check that neither the plan’s Start Date or End Date is in the past.
Update the applicable field(s) to today’s date or a future date, if necessary.
Click Create IO.
The plan’s status will change from Ready to Processing while we work on generating the campaigns, then from Processing to IO Created when the process is complete. You can view and manage generated campaigns once they reach an IO Created status.
Note that each generated campaign will remain as a draft until you add your creatives and choose to run them.
Manage generated campaigns
You’ll need to add your creative(s) to your campaigns before you can run them. You can review or manage campaigns that you generated from an HCP Planner plan in the following ways:
Save time with bulk actions: If you plan to apply the same creative to multiple campaigns, assign it from the Creatives app. Simply open the app, select the checkbox next to the creative, and click Assign To Campaign. Search and select individual campaigns, or select the insertion order (IO) to add the creative to every campaign within that IO. Click Assign and return to the Campaigns app when you’re ready to run your campaigns. |
Manage generated campaigns from the Plans page - Planner app
Follow these steps to manage generated campaigns from the Plans page of the Planner app:
Open the Planner app.
Select HCP.
Locate the desired plan on the Plans page.
If you’ve created several plans, search by a plan element (ID, Name, Created By) or filter by status to limit which plans will display on the page.
Select View Campaigns in the Actions column next to the plan. This will redirect you to the Insertion Order Info page of the Campaigns app.
Select a campaign from the Campaign Name column to open its detail page.
Locate and expand the Creative section. The creative formats you chose in your HCP Planner plan are pre-selected.
Click + Select Creatives to add a creative you’ve already uploaded to the Creatives app, or + New Creative to add a new one.
The remaining sections of the campaign automatically include each of the inputs you specified in your plan. You can review and update these items or any other section of the campaign, if desired.
Any changes applied to the campaign will impact the values previously forecasted in your HCP Planner plan.
Select Run to run the campaign.
Manage generated campaigns from the Plan Details page - Planner app
Follow these steps to manage generated campaigns from the Plan Details page of the Planner app:
Open the Planner app.
Select HCP.
Locate the desired plan on the Plans page.
If you’ve created several plans, search by a plan element (ID, Name, Created By) or filter by status to limit which plans will display on the page.
Select the plan’s name in the Name column. This will redirect you to the plan.
Select View Campaigns. This will redirect you to the Insertion Order Info page of the Campaigns app.

Manage generated campaigns from the Campaigns app
Follow these steps to manage generated campaigns from the Insertion Order Info page of the Campaigns app:
Open the Campaigns app.
Search or browse the page to locate the desired insertion order (IO). Its name will match the name of the HCP plan you created in the Planner app.
Select the IO’s name. This will redirect you to the Insertion Order Info page.

Reference associated campaigns
You can quickly reference which campaigns are associated with an HCP plan directly from the Planner app. Note that this option is available only for plans featuring an IO Created status.
Follow these steps to reference associated campaigns:
Open the Planner app.
Select HCP.
Locate the desired plan on the Plans page.
If you’ve created several plans, search by a plan element (ID, Name, Created By) or filter by status to limit which plans will display on the page.
Select the listed value in the Campaigns column. This will open a pop-up window that lists each of the plan’s campaigns and their details.
If desired, select any campaign from the Campaign Name column. This will open its details page in the Campaigns app, where you can review and manage it.
Locate additional HCP Planner resources
