VLD Insights report overview
The Voter Level Data (VLD) Insights report surfaces insights about users you targeted in current or prior political campaigns. It includes data such as demographic, ad-exposure, and voting-history details. Generate and apply these insights to improve current and future campaigns, strengthen your brand’s messaging across channels, and create segmented audience strategies, for example.
You can generate a VLD report if your campaigns and account meet certain criteria. Refer to the Voter Level Data (VLD) report overview page for more information on eligibility requirements, metrics, and costs.

Generate a VLD Insights report
Voter location notice: Due to privacy laws in the state of Oregon, we are unable to generate the VLD Insights report on any voters located there. Contact your account representative for more detailed information on the legality of reidentifying voters at the user level.
You can generate a VLD report in the following ways:
Generate a VLD Insights report from the Insights app
Follow these steps to access the + Generate New workflow:
Open the Insights app.
Select Voter Level Data.
Click + Generate New. This will open the Generate Voter Level Data pop-up window.
Choose whether the campaign is Running, Paused, or Expired from the Campaign Status menu.
Search and select the campaign for which you want to generate insights.
Search for the campaign’s name or ID, or the Insertion Order’s (IO) name or ID.
If a desired campaign or IO is missing from the list, its status doesn’t match the Campaign Status you selected and/or it isn’t eligible for VLD Insights generation.
Select a date range from the Date Range field.
Date ranges use the same time zone as the location where the campaign was initially created.
Click Next.
Review your campaign selection, and a summary of the report’s chargeable impressions and the associated cost.
We calculate the VLD Insights Price based on the number of impressions that your campaign or IO delivered during the specified date range at a CPM rate.
Select Previous to change the report’s settings, if desired.
Click Generate to create the VLD Insights report.
The VLD Insight Price is deducted from your account’s available balance immediately after you select this button.
VLD reports are typically ready within 15 minutes. Once generated, you can find the VLD insights on the Insights app’s Voter Level Data page. Review Manage a VLD report for details on how to review, download, or delete a report.
Generate a VLD Insights report from the Campaigns app
Follow these steps to access take a shortcut to VLD report creation from the Campaigns app:
Open the Campaigns app.
Choose the insertion order (IO), then filter or search your campaigns to locate the one for which you want to generate insights.
Select the checkbox next to the campaign.
Click Generate VLD Insights from the More menu.
You can only select Generate VLD Insights if the selected campaign is eligible for VLD reporting.
You’ll be redirected to the Voter Level Data page of the Insights app, where the campaign’s name and date range will be auto-populated.
Follow steps 7 through 9 of the Generate a VLD Insights report from the Insights app workflow to generate the report.
Generate a VLD Insights report from the Dashboard app
Follow these steps to access take a shortcut to VLD report creation from the Dashboard app:
Open the Dashboard app.
Filter or search the dashboard to locate the desired IO or campaign.
Click the checkbox next to the IO or campaign.
Select Generate VLD Insights from the More menu. This will redirect you to the Voter Level Data page of the Insights app, and auto-populate the campaign or IO’s name and date range.
This option is available only when your account and the selected IO or campaign are eligible for VLD Insights reporting.
Follow steps 7 through 9 of the Generate a VLD Insights report from the Insights app workflow to generate the report.
Manage a VLD Insights report
Data retention notice: You can access generated reports for three years after their creation date, in alignment with the IQM platform data-retention policy.
The Voter Level Data page displays each of your VLD reports and their statuses. You can use the Actions column to download a VLD report to your device or send it as an email attachment once it’s Ready.
Download a VLD Insights report
Follow these steps to download a VLD Insights report:
Filter or search the table to locate the desired report.
Open the Download menu in the Actions column.
Click Download as CSV or Download as XLSX, depending on your preference.
You’ll receive your insights as a single CSV or XLSX file if the spreadsheet contains 100K or less rows. Otherwise, you’ll receive them as a ZIP file containing multiple CSV or XLSX files. For example, if the report contains a total of 150K rows and you choose to download the insights as an XLSX file, then your download will include one ZIP file containing two XLSX files: one with 100K rows, and one with 50K rows.
Email a VLD Insights report
Follow these steps to email a VLD Insights report:
Filter or search the table to locate the report you want to send.
Select the envelope icon from the report’s Actions column.
Click Email as CSV or Email as XLSX, depending on your preference. This will open an Email Voter Level Data pop-up window.
Add up to 15 email aliases to the Email ID field, separated by commas.
Select Send Email.
The email will include a link that the recipients can use to download the report. This link expires 24 hours after you select Send Email.
Delete a VLD Insights report
We limit the ability to delete most VLD reports to help avoid accidental deletions of paid insights. You can, however, delete Failed VLD reports.
Follow these steps to delete a Failed VLD report from the Voter Level Data page:
Select the checkbox(es) next to the Failed report(s) you want to delete.
Click Delete.
Review past VLD Insights report spend
Follow these steps to review the total amount spent on VLD report generation from the Dashboard app:
Open the Dashboard app.
Open the View By menu and click Campaigns, Insertion Orders, or Advertiser, depending on your preference.
Workspace admins also have the option to select Workspace.
Select VLD Report Cost from the Columns menu.
The VLD Report Cost column will populate in the table.
Adjust the dashboard’s Time Zone and Date Range details to view the amount spent on VLD report generation within a specific timeframe, if desired.
