Create or manage a Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) inventory deal

Create a PG inventory deal or manage an existing one.

PG deal overview

Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) inventory deals are used to purchase a fixed amount of ad inventory at a pre-determined price through direct negotiation with publishers. Once you and the publisher reach an agreement, the publisher generates a Deal ID, which you’ll add to the IQM platform by following the steps outlined in this article.

Refer to Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) inventory overview for more information on PG deals, and review Assign Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) inventory deals to campaigns when you’re ready to choose which campaigns will target the PG deals that you’ve added to the IQM platform.

Create a PG inventory deal

You can add a new PG inventory deal in the following ways:

Inventory app

Follow these steps to add a new PG inventory deal to the Inventory app:

  1. Open the Inventory app.

  2. Select the PG tab.

  3. Click + Add New Deal. This will open the Add Deal pop-up window.

  4. Enter the unique Deal ID provided by the supply-side platform (SSP) or publisher partner.

  5. Enter a Deal Name to help you identify this deal in the IQM platform.

  6. Select the one Exchange in which the auction for the PG inventory deal will take place.

  7. Choose whether the current Deal Status is Active or Inactive.

    1. Campaigns can target or block only Active PG inventory deals.

  8. Define how payments for the PG campaigns assigned to this deal will be processed.

  9. If desired, complete the optional CPM and/or Description fields.

    1. CPM refers to the CPM information provided by the SSP or publisher, which you can store within this deal for reference. The CPM value you enter won’t be used in auctions.

  10. Select Add to finish adding the new PMP inventory deal to the Inventory app.

Campaigns app - Existing campaign

Follow these steps to add a new PG inventory deal to a campaign that you’ve already created:

  1. Open the Campaigns app.

  2. Choose an insertion order (IO), then filter or search your campaigns to locate the one for which you want to add the deal.

  3. Locate the Campaign Name column and click the campaign’s name. We’ll redirect you to a landing page for the campaign, where you can add or update its inventory details.

  4. Locate and expand the Inventory section.

  5. Select + Add Deal. This will open the Add Deal pop-up window.

  6. Follow steps 4 through 9 of the Create a PG inventory deal - Inventory app workflow.

  7. Select Add. The deal will appear in a PG Deals subsection of the campaign.

  8. Save your changes to apply the new PG deal to the existing campaign.

Campaigns app - New campaign

Follow these steps to add a new PG inventory deal to a new campaign in the Campaigns app:

  1. Open the Campaigns app.

  2. Click on the name of the desired insertion order (IO).

  3. Select + Create Campaign. Once you enter key details such as the campaign type (PG) and name, we’ll redirect you to a landing page that you’ll use to add inventory details.

  4. Locate and expand the Inventory section.

  5. Select + Add Deal. This will open the Add Deal pop-up window.

  6. Follow steps 4 through 9 of the Create a PG inventory deal - Inventory app workflow.

  7. Select Add. The deal will appear in a PG Deals subsection of the campaign.

  8. Complete the campaign’s other required and applicable fields, as needed.

  9. Save your changes.

    1. Select Save as Draft to apply your selections in a draft format.

    2. Select Run to apply your selections and create the campaign.

Manage a PG inventory deal

You can complete the following actions for existing PG inventory deals:

Edit a PG inventory deal

You can edit one PG inventory deal at a time. Note that all fields are edible for deals that aren’t associated with a campaign. Once deals are associated with a campaign, the Deal Status and Payment To fields become un-editable.

Follow these steps to apply changes to a PG inventory deal:

  1. Select the PG tab in the Inventory app.

  2. Search, filter, or browse the deals to locate the one you want to edit.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the deal.

  4. Click Edit. This will open the Edit Deal pop-up window.

  5. Apply your desired changes.

    1. Certain fields become un-editable once the deal is assigned to one or more campaigns.

  6. Select Save to apply your changes to the existing deal.

Delete a PG inventory deal

PG inventory deal deletion notice: Both Active and Inactive deals are eligible for deletion, but only if they aren’t currently assigned to any Pending, Running, Paused, or Expired campaigns. Note that deletion is permanent, and deleted PG inventory deals are unrecoverable.

You can delete PG inventory deals individually or in bulk. Follow these steps to delete PG inventory deals from the Inventory app:

  1. Select the PG tab in the Inventory app.

  2. Search, filter, or browse the deals to locate the one(s) you want to delete.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the deal(s).

  4. Click Delete. This will open the Delete Deals? pop-up window, where you can review any warnings and confirm your selection.

Assign a PG inventory deal to a campaign

You can assign PG inventory deals that you previously created in the Inventory app to new and existing campaigns. Refer to Assign Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) deals to a campaign for step-by-step instructions.
