In this article, we’ll walk you through the various actions you can take on inventory groups.
View Groups
To view all available groups in the account, navigate to “Groups” tab in the Inventory app.
You will see the list of groups available in the left-hand panel. You can view a group’s details by clicking on its card in the left-hand panel.
The left panel also displays shared groups. These groups are prepared by your workspace admins for you to use. You can use these groups, but only your Workspace admin can edit them. Shared groups are identified by a folder icon next to the group name.
To search for a specific group, you can use the search bar in the left panel that allows you to search groups by their name. Additionally, you can apply filters to narrow down your results.
You can also perform a search operation within the group items. Use the search bar on the right side to type text and search for group items by their name.
Moreover, you can download the table displayed on the right side. Find the download button at the top right of the table, which will allow you to download the entire result table.
Rename Groups
To edit the name of any group, click on the menu icon (three vertical dots) at the top right of the card. This will open a menu of actions available for that specific group. Select the “Change Name” action, and you will be able to change the group's name.
Remove items from the Group
You may also edit the group items. Click on the group to view its items in the table on the right side. Once the items are visible, select the ones you would like to remove from the group. After selecting the items from the table, a “Remove From Group” action button will appear.
Click on the “Remove From Group” button, and this will allow you to remove all the selected items after an additional confirmation.
This behavior is the same for all types of groups.
Once you remove inventory from a group, all connected campaigns that use this group will be affected. This includes any campaigns that are associated with the removed inventory group.
Delete a group
Sometimes you may want to delete an entire group. To delete any group, click on the vertical three dots menu icon, which will display all possible actions for the selected group.
Click on the “Delete” action from the menu. This will allow you to delete the group.
Once you perform the delete action, a confirmation prompt will appear. After you confirm the action, the group will be deleted immediately.
Assigning a group to a campaign
To use any inventory group, you may need to assign the group to any campaign right from the inventory app.
To assign inventory groups, start by selecting the group from the left panel. Once the group is selected, the right panel will display all details of the group.
You are allowed to choose any type of group from the left panel.
Furthermore, you can find the "Assign to Campaign" action button at the top right corner of the right panel when you are inside the group.
When you click on the "Assign To Campaign" action, it will open a popup that allows you to search for and select the campaigns where you want the selected group to be assigned and targeted.
The selected campaigns will appear in a table inside the popup. You can choose to toggle to Allowlist or Blocklist.
Adding as Allowlist means the platform will target only inventories available in the specified group for displaying ads. On the other hand, adding as the Blocklist means the platform will bid on all other inventories except those mentioned in the Blocklist.
To confirm the action, click the "Update" button. This will add the selected Inventory Group to all the chosen campaigns. The change will be immediately reflected in the campaigns.
An indication for whether an inventory group is added as Allowlist or Blocklist is also provided at the top of each Inventory group card in the left panel. For example, here it indicates that 122 campaigns are using this group as Allowlist, while 31 campaigns are using this group as Blocklist.
